You have powerful magic, but also an unusual body structure. The eye rays are witch bolt, telekinesis (unlimited, can only lift objects), charm person, eldritch blast, and ray of frost. You have 5 eye rays, each of once per long rest unless otherwise specified. Any creature you look at that is of a level/CR equal to you or lower cannot cast spells. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You have a flying speed of 30 feet and can hover. Beholders are almost always lawful, and many tend toward evil. A beholder generally lives about 100 years. Your Intelligence score increases by 2 and your Dexterity score increases by 1. Spherical, bizarre beings with numerous eyes. A few beholders, called eye tyrants, rule crime syndicates or thieves' guilds.Ī beholder makes its name out of various syllables and letters it likes, and such, there are no typical names. The Xanathar was actually a title, not a name, with the current Xanathar being a beholder actually called Zushaxx.īeholders have no society as they are very paranoid in most cases. One of the most famous beholders was the Xanathar, an eye tyrant (see below), leader of the Xanathar Guild in Waterdeep.
